In April, Hugs For Humanity visited Brookside Inn to share hugs with the residents. Many hugs and smiles were shared. We enjoyed finding out that the residents gave great hugs that touched our hearts.
The 1st Annual Hug-a-thon took place throughout the metro Denver area. Small in number, big in heart was the theme for the day. Hugs were shared with hundreds of people as Hugs Members pioneered into various communities opening hearts and building smiles. Into parking lots, parks, and stores we could be found. Lines had developed to receive hugs—no one was turned away without a hug, a “Give a Hug” sticker, and a smile. We received invitations to share hugs at other locations. Even Denver’s Channel 4 News wants us to keep them posted of our events so they can help get our message out and recruit more participants.
What a great impact, for Love DOES Win!
Hugs for Humanity had a great kick off in New York City the weekend of February 2, 2007.
Stories of high level business men sending long distance hugs from their windows; tourists at the Empire State building coming alive with smiles and blessings; and fast-paced New Yorkers slowing down to share a chain of hugs with strangers.
